Steph Edusei Bio Steph Edusei (Hon DCL) is the Chief Executive of St Oswald's Hospice, one of the North East's leading charitable hospices supporting children, young people, and adults. She also serves as a Director of the North East Chamber of Commerce, contributing to regional growth and business leadership.
Deeply rooted in her community, Steph has been a volunteer leader with Girlguiding UK for over 30 years. She is the Chair of Tyneside Cinema and Eliot Smith Dance, and has previously held influential governance roles including NonExecutive Director at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and co-chair of The Angelou Centre, a Black-led women's charity offering training, counselling, and refuge support.
Steph is the author of the bestselling A Little Book of Leadership Lessons, in which she distils practical guidance and personal insight for aspiring and experienced leaders. She is also the founder and host of the Black All Year podcast and events, a platform dedicated to amplifying Black voices, addressing challenges affecting Black communities, and celebrating culture, resilience, and achievement. Her leadership and advocacy have been acknowledged through numerous accolades.
She was awarded the Transformational Leader title at the Northern Power Women Awards, included in the BusinessCloud Northern Leaders list for both 2024 and 2025, added to the Northern Power Women Power List, recognised as Most Supportive Chief Executive by the Charity Retail Association, and honoured with a Special Recognition Award from the Best Businesswomen Awards. In 2025, Steph received an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Law from Northumbria University.
